UT Southwestern Medical Center's programs for treating memory disorders address Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, frontotemporal dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and other less common syndromes. Our Alzheimer's Disease Center (ADC) is one of 32 institutions funded by the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Aging to evaluate patients and conduct scientific research on the causes of Alzheimer's disease.
Patients at UT Southwestern receive thorough diagnostic evaluations to identify and classify any existing memory problems or disorders. The most advanced analytic tests – including state-of-the-art nerve conduction studies and electroencephalography (EEG) scans – provide a roadmap for treatment.
UT Southwestern’s renowned physicians deliver the best in compassionate patient care, offering extensive experience in working with memory disorder patients. At the ADC alone, more than 150 new patients are evaluated each year, and the center’s database includes information on more than 2,500 patients treated since 1988.
In addition, UT Southwestern’s clinicians use cutting-edge treatments that build on the groundbreaking research conducted at the medical center. We also offer individuals the opportunity to participate in clinical research to aid in finding future treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.
