Non-degree Programs -- 

Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship: This program is designed to develop promising student researchers who intend to pursue careers in patient-oriented research through a combination of didactic coursework and mentored research training.

Endowment for Scholars: The Endowed Scholars Program in Biomedical Research provides $1,000,000 to five, first-time, tenure-track assistant professors at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  Funded by private endowment, the program assures the successful launch of young and creative investigators entering both basic science and clinical departments.

Ethics in Science and Medicine: This program is dedicated to advancing research, education, and clinical service relevant to ethical issues in science and medicine

Green Fellowships: This program offers biochemistry majors from the University of Texas - Dallas (UTD) a semester-long intensive research training experience. 

Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP): This program aims to provide students from local Dallas high schools access to UT Southwestern Medical Center as well as to health profession role models from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Medical Student Research: This page contains information about research opportunities available for medical students at UT Southwestern, including summer and year-long research programs.

Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP): This program provides young physicians with specialized options for post-residency scientific training at UT Southwestern.

Quantitative and Physical Sciences - Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (QP-SURF): This NIH-funded grant is designed to enhance the research training of  undergraduate students enrolled in a physics, computer science, mathematics or chemistry degree program and who have completed the sophomore year. 

Science Teacher Access to Resources at Southwestern (STARS):This partnership makes available to middle and high school science teachers some of the vast educational resources of UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Short-term Research Training for Medical Students (T-35 Training Grant) : This is an NIH-funded grant that underwrites short-term training opportunities for medical students enrolled in any accredited US medical school.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program (SURF): This program is designed to enhance the research training of undergraduate students who are interested in obtaining the PhD or MD/PhD degrees.

The University Of Texas Southwestern Undergraduate Medical Research Fellows Program (UT-SUMR): This program is designed to enhace the training of undergraduate students who are interested in research, but who do not plan to pursue the PhD degree.
